Standing Rock Sioux kabilesinin 3.8 milyar dolarlık Dakota petrol boru hattı projesine (DAPL) karşı başlattığı direniş diğer yerli kabilelerinin de katılımıyla giderek büyüyor. Hafta sonunda inşaat şirketinin kiraladığı özel güvenlik eylemcilere köpeklerle ve biber gazıyla saldırdı. Ancak kutsal topraklarını terk etmeyen yerli halklar su kaynaklarını tehlikeye atan ve yaşamlarını, ormanlarını, topraklarını tehdit eden boru hattı projesine karşı direnişi sürdürüyorlar.
